The 2015 WRX Type 5 Dual Port BOV has a Smart Port system with new piston and trumpet designs for improved sealing and faster response, ideal for modern drive-by-wire vehicles.
Smart Piston Design
The upgraded Smart Port piston features an aerospace alloy construction, resulting in a lighter weight and improved valve response. Utilizing a military-spec coating, the surface of the piston is treated with a low-friction material, providing increased responsiveness and durability for the BOV. This enhancement makes it the most responsive Type 5 BOV yet, with excellent wear resistant properties for extended longevity.
Smart Trumpet Design
Turbosmart’s new Smart Port trumpet allows the use of a softer spring in the body of the BOV to aid in valve response to the plumb back port, while still retaining the ability to vent to atmosphere.
